Elderberry
flowering time
Good morning from Styria, the ‘Green Heart’ of southeast Austria!
This region is home to the Styrian Berry Cooperative, proud creators of one of the largest black elderberry (Sambucus nigra, L) cultivations on earth. 250 farmers produce exclusively for IPRONA The Fruit Company ElderCraft - European Black Elderberry Extract.
As you know, flowers and berries are growing in clusters. This year, these clusters have grown in large numbers and have developed very evenly. This is the most important precondition for a good berry harvest later in August and September. Under optimum weather conditions, nature should be able to catch up some of the delay, and up-to-date, we are not anticipating the new crop to start prior end of August.
All in all, our expectations are fully met at this point in time! We hope that Mother Nature continues to cooperate with the growers over the next few months…we will keep you posted. For further information please contact us at extracts@iprona.com.
