THE INTERNATIONAL PATENT APPLICATION FOR ELDERCRAFT® HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

Marking a significant milestone: on June 15th, 2023 the international patent application for ElderCraft® has been published: “ELDERBERRY EXTRACT FOR USE IN A METHOD OF PREVENTING OR TREATING SARS-CoV-2 INFECTION”

The laboratory headed by Prof. Schubert Institute of Virology, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg studied the effect of ElderCraft®, an extract made by IPRONA from Sambucus nigra, L. black elderberries (variety Haschberg) on the replication of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The study revealed that ElderCraft® inhibits at the replication of the virus in vitro.

Encouraged by these findings, IPRONA filed an international patent describing ElderCraft® for use in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Prof. Schubert points out that their recent research findings indicate the extract exhibits potent anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity. The remarkable efficacy of this extract is not confined to the Wuhan type of the virus; it extends equally to variants of concern Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Omicron.
